Bernardo Monk Tango Quintet
Created in 2002, is the result of many years exploring both jazz and tango. A unique and electrifying ensemble which melds traditional tango musical figures, rhythms and instruments along with the not-traditional jazz sounds of the saxophone. Monk's music keeps intact the dancing quality that made Argentine Tango famous around the World. The original choreographs become wonderful visual interludes in a program which creates a unique and challenging new artistic direction.

Bernardo Monk Tango Quintet has suddenly become all the rage in New England and the US East Coast. Performing in such prestigious venues as Philadelphia Museum of Art, Caramoor Museum (Katonah, NY), Bearsville Theater (Woodstock, NY), Northampton Center for the Arts, Berklee International Folk Festival, Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA, Boston), etc.
